Drum'n'Bass

Drum and bass is a type of electronic dance music. The genre is characterised by fast tempo broken beats, but also having occasional differences in some older compositions, with heavy sub basslines. The genre places great importance on the "bass line", a deep sub-bass musical pattern which can be felt physically through powerful sound systems due to the low-range frequencies favoured. There has been considerable exploration of different timbres in the bass line region, particularly within techstep. The bass lines most notably originate from sampled sources or synthesizers. Bass lines performed with a bass instrument, whether it is electric, acoustic or a double bass, are less common.
Here are some name and bands:
  • Pendulum
  • Chase & Status
  • Sub Focus
  • Noisia
  • Dj Fresh
  • Netsky
  • High Contrast
  • London Elektricity
Hope you find this useful.
Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!

Thoughts

Why do songs make us feel different emotions? Is it because the melody is ether soft and melancholic or ruff and noise or is it just because some sounds resonate with us and touch some weird sensors or is it just because we associate songs and sounds with people and memories of them. It's like when you are craving some foods that you don't really like or you like too much and you know they aren't healthy for you and you don't eat them, you don't really crave them because of the taste it's because it reminders you for someone or some moment in time when you were happy or sad you might not know it, yet our minds work in mysterious ways and some times all you need it's just a little reminder of those time so you can feel better even if it makes you sad.
I personally think that it's because we change constantly and become different persons over time and some times we need some help reminding us way we change and it's always for a good reason even though it doesn't seem that way at that time. Change it's always good maybe not for everybody around you but it's definitely good for you. You change for a reason and that's all you need to know for now and when you realize it you will feel relieved.
I hope this makes sense it does for my anyway.

Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!

Forever Lost (Reprise)

Here is some more post-rock for you ....
God is an Astronaut - Forever Lost (Reprise)
Enjoy!

This shouldn't have a title or at least I don't know what it is.

ARTmania was freaking awesome, the concerts the people the after party, it was fucking insane. Unfortunately not that many people came to the post-rock stage and I have the feeling that nothing like this is going to happen at ARTmania again. Sad I know but what can we do, force people in to coming to something they might not like or worse they might actually like it, no all we can do is hope that someday when 65daysofstatic, EF and Tides From Nebula come the concert will be full and packing.
Hope you had a great few days and enjoyed yourself and also enjoyed some good music, doesn't matter what just that you like it.
Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!

Semn

Coma - Semn

Coma is a Romanian alternative band and they are pretty great when it comes to music. I hope you like this song cause there are more to come from them.

Here are the lyrics translated

A Sign

Maybe you'll be able to give me a sign
with your back resting against the sky...

To know that you are anywhere it's not nowhere
The sun won't linger as long as we want it to...

Maybe you'll forget not to shiver
Maybe you'll forget not to appear

Although the simplest way is to forget what we are,
Maybe not all horses die when we want them to...

I know you...

Ever since...
Today...
Long ago...

I hope for you...

Leaving...
Coming...
Saying:

"Hello,

I know you,
Today we stay up late
because we've wandered enough
And
Some roads are just too short
for so many things to hide"

But what would you want to hear
What would you want to hear, that I'm not telling you?

What would you want us to be
What would you want us to be, that I'm not?

Maybe there's no such dream we don't wake up from
Maybe there's no such dream we can... run away from

I know you

Ever since...
Today...
Long ago...

I hope for you...

Leaving...
Coming...
Saying:

"Hello,

I know you,
Today we stay up late
We've wandered enough
And
Some roads are just too short
for so many things to hide"

Don't worry this is more poetic than actual lyrics so if it doesn't makes sense it because it's a weird metaphor.

Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!

ARTmania

Tomorrow ARTmania Festival starts again here in Romania, if you enjoy rock and metal rock music this is the place to be. This year is the 9th edition and they have some great bands, or so I've heard, like

and it's getting bigger each year and more people have heard of it, they even made a new stage for post-rock so I'll be there.
If you like this kind of music and enjoy big festivals pencil this festival for next year, I'm sure it will be great or even greater to.

Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!

About Post-Rock

Post-rock is a subgenre of rock, if the name didn't give it away. Post-rock is characterized by the influence and use of instrumental generally associated with rock, but applying rhythms and guitars as facilitators of timbre and textures not normally found in rock. The post-rock sound mixes characteristics from a variety of music genres including ambient, jazz, electronic, and experimental. Vocals are usually absent from post-rock; although, this does not necessarily mean they are missing altogether. When vocals are applied, the usage is typically non-traditional: some post-rock bands apply vocals as simply instrumentals actions and incidental to the sound, rather than a more accepted use where "clean", easily-interpretable vocals are important for poetic and lyrical meaning. When present, post-rock vocals are usually soft or droning and are typically rare or present in chaotic intervals.
Here are some bands that I really love listening to:

  • 65daysofstatic
  • Maybeshewill
  • God is an Astronaut
  • Sleepmakeswaves
  • Collapse Under the Empire
  • Exxasens
  • EF
  • Explosions in the Sky
  • This Will Destroy You
and lots more and they all have weird names.

What This Is About.

I will try each day to post songs that I find interesting and each month will have a special song. I will try to diversify but I will Not promise anything since I mostly listen to Indie, Alternative, Rock and especially Post-Rock (which I personally think is the best. If you have not heard of this genre the first song will introduces you to it).
I shall try to make this as painless as possible and please bear with me this is my first blog and I wanna make a great one or at least good so some of you enjoy it.
Btw  my name is Ema (yes with one "m". I am special that way) I'm from Romania (Europe if you did not know), I'm 22 and I think people should enjoy as many music genres and styles as they can cause there sure are a lot of them in the world.
Please feel free to comment and give me songs to listen I'll post them if I find them interesting, and that happens more often than you think.
Thank you for reading this and enjoy some good music(in my opinion).
Have a great day, evening, night or whatever it is there!
